Dihydro T-MAS
Explanation: Dihydro T-MAS is saturated fat naturally produced in the body during cholesterol synthesis. It normally exists in very small amounts. When certain enzymes in this production pathway don't work properly, Dihydro T-MAS can accumulate to abnormal levels in the blood, signaling potential metabolic problems.
Test Purpose: Screen for rare genetic disorders affecting cholesterol synthesis pathways like sterol C4 methyl oxidase deficiency and related enzyme deficiencies.
