Test your
Apolipoprotein B (Apo B)
Looking for an easy way to test and monitor your Apolipoprotein B (Apo B)?
It's included in the HealthieOne Disease-Specific test.
Apolipoprotein B (Apo B)
Explanation: Apolipoprotein B (Apo B) is a protein found in low-density lipoproteins (LDL), very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) and others. It plays a key role in transporting cholesterol and fats (lipids) in the blood and is considered a strong marker of cardiovascular risk.
Test purpose: An Apo B test is used to assess heart disease risk and lipid metabolism. High Apo B levels may indicate high LDL cholesterol, increased risk of heart disease, metabolic syndrome, or diabetes.
- Evaluate LDL cholesterol levels and heart disease risk.
- Monitor cholesterol-lowering treatments (e.g., statins, lifestyle changes).
- Detect lipid disorders and inherited high cholesterol conditions (e.g., familial hypercholesterolemia).
- Assess risk for atherosclerosis (plaque buildup in arteries), stroke, and heart attacks.
