11-Deoxycorticosterone
Explanation: 11-Deoxycorticosterone is a hormone naturally produced by the adrenal glands, which sit on top of the kidneys. When the production of this hormone is disrupted, it can affect blood pressure and electrolyte levels. Abnormal levels of 11-deoxycorticosterone in the blood may signal problems with the adrenal glands or hormonal balances.
Test Purpose:
- Assess adrenal gland health
- Monitor patients with high blood pressure that may be caused by hormonal imbalances
