Explanation: 3-Hydroxytetradecanoylcarnitine is a compound produced during the breakdown of saturated fatty acids. It plays a role in energy metabolism. High levels in the blood may point to fatty acid oxidation disorders, particularly long-chain 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase (LCHAD) deficiency.
