Explanation: 3-Hydroxydodecanoylcarnitine is a compound naturally produced in the body during the breakdown of fatty acids for energy. It plays a role in energy metabolism. Elevated levels of 3-hydroxydodecanoylcarnitine can indicate disruptions in fatty acid metabolism, most commonly associated with fatty acid oxidation disorders such as LCHAD deficiency.
