Test your
Hexanoylcarnitine
Looking for an easy way to test and monitor your Hexanoylcarnitine?
It's included in the HealthieOne Disease-Specific test.
Hexanoylcarnitine
Explanation: Hexanoylcarnitine is a compound produced during the breakdown of fatty acids to produce energy. Elevated levels may indicate problems with fatty acid oxidation, particularly MCAD deficiency, where the body has difficulty processing fats for energy production.
Test Purpose: Detect medium-chain fatty acid oxidation disorders, especially MCAD deficiency, as hexanoylcarnitine (C6) is one of the metabolites presenting as abnormally elevated in MCAD deficiency.
