Adenosine diphosphate
Explanation: Adenosine diphosphate (ADP) is created when ATP (the body’s primary energy molecule) releases some energy to power cells. ADP can be recharged back into ATP as part of the energy cycle. ADP also helps platelets (blood cells responsible for clotting) stick together. It is also the material for the body to make one of the building blocks of DNA, which carries genetic information.
Test purpose: Assess energy production and metabolism and platelet function.
An aspect of Glucose and Energy Levels.
