Test your
Atherogenic Coefficient
Looking for an easy way to test and monitor your Atherogenic Coefficient?
It's included in the HealthieOne Complete test.
Atherogenic Coefficient
Explanation: The Atherogenic Coefficient measures the ratio of "bad" cholesterol (found in LDL, VLDL, and other harmful particles) to "good" HDL cholesterol. Because it captures the balance between cholesterol types that promote plaque buildup and those that help remove it, the Atherogenic Coefficient provides additional view of how the overall cholesterol profile may be affecting artery health.
Test purpose:
- Assess overall cardiovascular disease risk by evaluating the balance between atherogenic and protective cholesterol fractions
- Identify hidden risk when LDL cholesterol appears normal but HDL is low or triglycerides are elevated
- Monitor changes in lipid balance in response to lifestyle modifications or lipid-lowering therapy
Note: Universal clinical reference ranges have not been established for this calculated marker. Available cutoffs vary by population and clinical context. This value should be interpreted alongside individual component values, clinical history, and other relevant biomarkers.
