Test your
Testosterone/Estradiol (T:E2) Ratio

Looking for an easy way to test and monitor your Testosterone/Estradiol (T:E2) Ratio?
It's included in the HealthieOne Complete test.

Testosterone/Estradiol (T:E2) Ratio

Explanation: The Testosterone/Estradiol (T:E2) ratio measures the balance between your primary androgen and primary estrogen. Testosterone builds muscle, bone, and metabolic capacity while supporting libido and mood, whereas estradiol protects bones, brain, and cardiovascular system while regulating fat distribution. In men, estradiol is produced mainly by converting testosterone through the aromatase enzyme in fat tissue, so excess body fat drives estradiol higher while depleting testosterone. In women, this ratio shifts dramatically across the menstrual cycle and life stages. The optimal ratio differs significantly between sexes and requires context-specific interpretation.

Test purpose:

  • Assess hormonal balance affecting body composition and metabolism: Reveals whether aromatase overactivity is converting too much testosterone to estradiol, a common pattern in obesity and metabolic syndrome that perpetuates fat accumulation.
  • Evaluate symptoms of hormone imbalance: Helps explain symptoms in men such as gynecomastia, low libido, erectile dysfunction, and fatigue that may stem from estrogen excess relative to testosterone rather than testosterone deficiency alone.

Note: Universal clinical reference ranges have not been established for this calculated marker. Available cutoffs vary by population and clinical context. This value should be interpreted alongside individual component values, clinical history, and other relevant biomarkers.
